Speaking to a sparse crowd — perhaps 15 local supporters — Heslin said one of the simplest things that could be done “to prevent guns from falling into the wrong hands” is for Congress to pass legislation that would expand background checks for all firearm transactions, including private sales.
"Preliminary evidence in the case demonstrates that the intended victim of the robbery acted in self-defense while being robbed by a violent criminal who was armed with a knife," said Sheriff Wayne Ivey. "The suspect in this investigation was released from prison in 2009, after serving a reduced sentence for similar violent crimes.”
Airport spokesman David Magana confirmed that the D/FW Airport Department of Public Safety had taken Shemane Ann Nugent, 51, into custody.
He declined to comment further, saying, “The rest of it is working its way through our system of legal approval.”
A police report is expected to be released Friday.
Nugent’s attorney, David Finn, said taking the gun to the airport was an “honest mistake.” Nugent “completely forgot or never knew the weapon was in her bag.”
Yesterday, President Barack Obama SIGNED the U.N. gun ban treaty.
You know what this means. Now Obama and the U.N. are one BIG step closer to wiping out our Second Amendment freedom, our national sovereignty, and our American rule of law...once and for all.

FBI Visiting Gun Shops to Investigate "People talking about Big Government" --- Brandon Turbeville
In keeping with the tradition of the FBI’s position on gun rights, it appears the Bureau is working overdrive to monitor and harass gun owners and the gun shops that sell to them. While government surveillance of gun purchases and gun owners is nothing new, a recent visit by an FBI Counterterrorism agent to a Columbia, South Carolina gun shop has only reinforced the knowledge that the U.S. government is growing more and more concerned by the prospect of a well-armed populace – particularly one that prefers to live without constant government interference in their personal lives. http://www.brandonturbeville.com/2014/04/fbi-visiting-gun-shops-to-...
The evidence... indicates that denying one particular means to people who are motivated to commit suicide by social, economic, cultural, or other circumstances simply pushes them to other means. Thus, it is not just the murder rate in gun-less Russia that is four times higher than the American rate; the Russian suicide rate is also about four times higher than the American rate.
In addition to these things, Bloomberg paints with a broad brush in attributing annual gun-related deaths to "illegal guns." He does not define the term, leaving his audience to presume that an "illegal gun" is a gun purchased without a background check.
BREAKING: The Department Of (In)Justice Goes After Guns In Further Capital Controls

The US government is attempting every possible angle to ensure Americans don't have access to guns. The latest is a new twist on capital controls being instituted by the Department of (In)Justice.
The DoJ is why financial institutions are refusing services to companies as diverse as gun shops, bitcoin businesses, marijuana dispensaries and even the porn industry.
Just last week a gun shop in Florida had an old bank account closed after their local bank was bought out by Wall Street interests.
The Miami News Times writes,
The Libertis’ battle with BankUnited began last month. For seven years, they say, they had no problem with the Miami Lakes-based bank. T.R. had run a gun store in the Garden State, and when he opened Top-Gun Firearms on Calle Ocho, BankUnited operated the account.
But when T.R. decided to retire and let Elizabeth take the store online — under the new name Discount Ammo-N-Guns — the Libertis found themselves suddenly under fire.
A March 12 letter mysteriously informed them that BankUnited was closing their checking account “pursuant to the terms and conditions listed in our Depositor’s Agreement.” It gave the Libertis three days to transfer their cash elsewhere. When the Libertis called BankUnited for an explanation, they were politely informed that none would be forthcoming.
“I was very angry,” Elizabeth says. “They were very inconsiderate. We had all our credit cards going through that bank. All of a sudden, we had to run and find another bank to keep our business going. We shut down for two weeks, and they wouldn’t even tell us why.”
This is normal operating procedures for banks in the United States, according to news of a secretive DoJ operation which broke last week in the Wall Street Journal and American Banker.
It is called Operation Chokepoint. It appears as reports of credit card processors, banks, and lending institutions refuse to do business with any business that is legally buying and selling guns.
Smaller financial institutions are unable to cater to these owners, under pressure of penalty by the DoJ.
Ironically, Bank of America has led the charge against the gun industry.
After Maryland's Engage Armament announced the sale of the Armatix iP1 smart gun on May 1 only to rescind the decision on May 2 due to the public outcry, it was clear Americans still view smart guns as a dumb option for preserving life and liberty. California's Oak Tree Gun Club faced the same public outcry and reversed course after they announced plans to sell smart guns as well.
Smart guns are viewed as a dumb option for protecting life because the operating systems for such guns actually limits their usefulness in this area. And these limitations raise questions that remain unanswered.
For example, what happens when a gun programmed to fire only in the hand of a certain father cannot be fired by his wife or 17-year-old son
ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – An attempted home invasion turned into a murder investigation Tuesday morning. One suspect is dead and another is in critical condition after allegedly holding a gun to a teen’s head. St. Louis police are releasing chilling details of a late night shooting in south St. Louis that left one person dead, another injured and a neighborhood shaken up.
It all went down at 11:00pm last night on Newport near Neosho in the Bevo Mill neighborhood. Investigators say it all started with a teenaged girl being confronted by two armed men in front of her home. It ended with one of the suspects dead and another hospitalized.
