Monkeys in The Trees
Thyroid eyed and fit to be tied
Let me count the times that you lied
Only so many times you can let it slide
What can I do to stem the tide?
Baby I thought you were on my side
Everything is temporary so enjoy the ride
Sometimes you can’t run you just have to glide
Better than reaching for a capsule of cyanide,
The pop culture is out of control
All the disinformation makes you want to find a hole
So many celebrities without a soul
Notoriety seems their only goal,
Somewhere somehow the world got crazy
Seems my recollections have gotten a bit hazy
The people have gotten intellectually lazy
Being brainwashed is the key,
Like the Roman emperors in Washington DC
Leaders of all the monkeys in the trees
The hairless and indoctrinated if you please
Deep in the lonely night I get down on my knees,
I’m here trying to connect
But inherently defective thinking is hard to correct
Especially when there’s so many problems to dissect
Focusing on the social side effects.
