Former U.S. Vice President Al Gore and his business partner Joel Hyatt filed a lawsuit Friday against news organization Al-Jazeera over alleged fraud and a breach of contract stemming from its acquisition of Current Media.

The pair, who are co-founders of Current Media, claim Al-Jazeera violated the law by refusing to give tens of millions to Current Media stockholders following Al-Jazeera's purchase of Current Media last year.

"Al Jazeera America wants to give itself a discount on the purchase price that was agreed to nearly two years ago," said the duo's attorney, reportedPolitico. "We are asking the Court to order Al Jazeera America to stop wrongfully withholding the escrow funds that belong to Current's former shareholders."
