#Dorner case: Who, if anyone, will get $1-million reward is unclear

Officials have not made a decision on who, if anyone, will get a piece of more than $1 million in reward money offered for the capture and conviction of suspected killer Christopher Dorner.

Dorner, 33, is believed to have died in a Big Bear cabin fire after a standoff with police Tuesday afternoon.

He was tracked there after reportedly tying up two people in one cabin and carjacking a man minutes later. All three people reported seeing Dorner to police.

At a news conference Wednesday morning, LAPD officials pointed out that the reward was for Dorner’s capture and conviction, leading some to believe that it may not be given out since he’s believed to be dead.

Also Wednesday, it was revealed that Dorner told two people he was holding captive in their condo that he wanted to clear his name.

Jim Reynolds, 66, who has owned the condo with his wife for 12 years, quoted Dorner as saying: “I don’t have a problem with you. I just want to clear my name."

UPDATE!!!

CA city pulls Dorner reward; 'arrest and conviction, Not Death

The city of Riverside is pulling its pledge of $100,000 toward the $1 million reward offered during the manhunt for rogue ex-LAPD officer Christopher Dorner.

Dorner died in an apparent suicide during a standoff with authorities and cabin burning near Big Bear last month.

Because the Riverside City Council resolution stipulated the money was for information leading to Dorner’s arrest and conviction, the city will withdraw its pledge because neither condition was met, Riverside city spokeswoman Cindie Perry told NBCLA.

Riverside police officer Michael Crain was among four people killed by Dorner.

The city's move comes a day after a peace officers’ union president told the Los Angeles Times that his organization was placing its pledge on hold, and said other donors had expressed similar misgivings.

LA's mayor and police chief have said they want to see the reward paid.

Two claims have been made on the money – one by a man who was carjacked by Dorner, the other by a couple who was held captive by the fugitive.
