The harassment, harsh tactics, batch arrests, over-high bail amounts, specious charges, and injuries in the past month have gotten so bad that #OccupyOakland has decided to protest weekly until "the bullshit stops." This is the first one, as far as I am aware, and already the helicopters are buzzing overhead, and the Storm-Troopers-in-Black are deploying.

Occupy Oakland protesters marching in downtown

OAKLAND -- Protesters began marching the streets around Frank Ogawa Plaza on Saturday night, but police said the demonstration was off to a peaceful start.

Whether it would remain that way was the big question.

In a statement, the Occupy Oakland Tactical Action Committee called property such as police and media vehicles and equipment fair game for destruction by their followers "if you really must risk your freedom by doing something of that nature."
