The Forsyth County sheriff said he didn’t believe the parents and children were in any danger and that parks are constantly patrolled. He said the man was well within his rights to carry the gun.

“We support the constitutional right to bear arms,” said Forsyth Sheriff Duane Piper.

The situation works well to illustrate the absolute hysteria whipped up by the media to demonize guns, gun owners, and the second amendment. Individuals have a better chance of being struck by lightening twice than being a victim in a mass shooting.

In fact there are only around 200 mass-shooting casualties around the nation annually and gang violence accounts for the vast majority.

Already leftist media are attempting to say the gun owner harassed, threatened, and intimidated the parents and children at the ball field. According to police however, he said and did nothing.
