[16:55 PM] WISN 12 News has learned the FBI is on the scene of a home in Cudahy. They are awaiting a further update from their crew in Cudahy.

[17:00 PM] WISN also reporting that one of the injured had shots to the chest and abdomen, the second had shots to the extremities and face and the third had gunshot wounds to the neck. All three men are in critical condition. 2 have undergone surgery, 1 is having a "complex procedure" at this time.

[17:44 PM] Update On Obama Briefing

At 4:30PM EDT, the President convened a call with FBI Director Bob Mueller, Chief of Staff Jack Lew, and Homeland Security Advisor John Brennan to receive an update on the tragic shooting in Oak Creek, Wisconsin. Following that briefing, the President called Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker, Oak Creek Mayor Steve Scaffidi and trustee of the Sikh Temple Charanjeet Singh to express his condolences for the lives lost and his concern for those who were injured.

During the briefing, the President was informed that the situation at the Sikh Temple was under control and that the lone gunmen was killed by an Oak Creek police officer. The President also was updated on the condition of some of the victims of the attack, and he directed that the federal government assist as appropriate in the investigation into the shooting. The President said that he wanted to make sure that as we denounce this senseless act of violence we also underscore how much our country has been enriched by our Sikh Community, who are an integral part of our broader American family.

[17:44 PM] WISN reports 12 families have been evacuated from homes in Cudahy. They have been told to evacuate their homes "for an extended period of time."

[17:55 PM] WISN is also reporting that when asking officials about the evacuation, a neighbor was told they would "not understand right away what was going on, but we'd understand in the future."

[18:03 PM] WISN "Police were looking for a white man, in his twenties with a 'fuzzy overgrowth' of a beard. They learned that he had moved to the area in the past two weeks."

[18:15 PM] The Guardian live blog wraps up with this summary:

• A gunman killed six victims and wounded three, including a police officer, at the temple before being shot dead by a second police officer. The three wounded were being treated at hospital and were expected to survive.

• Authorities were at the scene of a home in the Milwaukee area believed to be connected with the shooter.

• The gunman was described by a man who spoke to eye witnesses as white, in his 30s, "a little heavy," wearing blue pants and a white shirt. He is believed to have acted alone. Police said "weapons" were recovered inside the temple but had no further information.

• A man at the temple told local news station WISN that two children saw the suspect shoot two people exiting a taxi outside the temple. The children, who were unharmed, then ran inside to warn congregants about the shooter.
