I have been onsite for the last 2 days and still have troops onsite. I was never able to verify any of the rumors and hearsay that has been spread across the net. Traffic was horrid today due to it being the weekend and the fact that in many places the freeway was reduced to a single lane for construction which started around a month ago. No MRAP's in the AO, but 2 SWAT trucks, dozens of troopers and Metro cops near the BLM area. As of 2200 hrs, the staging site (BLM) was still lit like a stadium, but the access road is blocked by a dump truck. At approx, 1500 hrs, a sheriff's deputy was dispatched to advise the BLM that they were to cease operations and leave the area. OMA and the rogue elements took credit for the removal of the Feds, but in truth, it was the protestors in front of Metro HQ, the presence of the media, and the fact that it is an election year that prompted the action by local LE officials to noot the Feds out. Over the last several days, I have had troops onsite talking with the Bundy's, protesting/supporting, and encamped on the Bundy property. Not once were they able to confirm the reports of violence, illegal search and seizure, threats of physical violence/incarceration/death against militia members, tanks, military vehicles, black helicopters etc. When confronted with the challenge to "prove it", the accuser waffled and could never provide proof to back the accusation. I did witness, however, the antagonization of LE officials by members of OMA (Operation Mutual Aid).  Sheriff Gillespie served as a negotiator between Bundy and the BLM late Friday night, but that was not to the liking of OMA who was looking for blood to be spilled, telling the militia members onsite to "do what you feel you must do" when it came to a confrontation with LE is stopped. There was indeed a march on the BLM corral and it did FUBAR traffic for several hours, I heard reports of snipers and armed guards near the ranch, but never saw them personally and I had high powered optics on all of the surrounding hills. The only armed security was onsite at the ranch and those were OMA stormtrooper wannabes. When I got onsite, I surveyed the situation and determined that the site was subject to easy infiltration by opposing forces and that whomever had placed himself in charge was inept and was only there for his own self aggrandizement. The final rumor came at 1915 when it waqs suggested by the OMA representative that the feds had been moved to the Best Western in Mesquite for a possible attack. It proved to be a lie. No Feds in the hotel or any other place in town. The one tru fact that has come out of this whole sad ordeal, is the Operation Mutual Aid is NOT a militia, usurps the authority of local militias and appears to exist solely to throw gas on the fires that burn between the Feds and We The People. If push had come to shove out there in Bunkerville, OMA would have gotten many people hurt or killed and they themselves would have run away leaving the real militia members there holding the sack full of blame for the incident. I pulled my people back for a reason, it just felt wrong. The protests were relatively peaceful, until OMA showed up and antagonized the Feds. This incident did however point out, in glaring detail, our biggest deficiency, and that is communications and chain of command. The militia members and free fighters who were there were comparatively few, and grossly disorganized lacking even a basic chain of command. Most importantly, several of those who responded (by email at least and on this site most certainly) were disrespectful, crude and rude. On the positive side, the militia members from several states made acquaintance with me and I thank them humbly for their support.
