Great Britain - 500th Anniversary (4) Coin Gold Proof Sovereign Collection - Mint Issued Box - 1989 - As issued by the Royal Mint and listed in Krause's Standard Catalog of World Coins as PS61, includes coins KM-955, 956, 957 and 958. This set contains an actual combined gross weight of 2.0017 troy ounces of pure gold. Issued to commemorate the 500th anniversary of the first gold sovereign in 1489, the obverse of this one year type features Queen Elizabeth II seated on the Coronation throne. The reverse depicts a crowned and quartered shield on a Tudor rose. Total mintage for this beautiful set was 5,000 units.
