You're on to it Doc V, China wants a slice of the ice although they have no historical discoveries, borders, or formal stewardship with either of the icy regions. There are about 8 nations in charge of the arctic areas with Canada being one of the largest ( Russia being the other ) and the USA has a small slice of the pie with Alaska. Could be possible at this stage that President Trump might want to expand some influence there before too much longer if it's not all ready to late. Might step on some toes though.

China has been up to no good for a long time and they do plan ultimately to not only be world leader but to occupy US soil and exterminate Americans too. They're populating America pretty damn well now !
