If you were a Norse (Old West Norse - víkingr (f) - one who participated in a sea journey characterized by the shifting of rowers - the term 'viking' wasn't used to refer to a people or culture until the 18th C) then you would be worshiping Odin - Wotan was worshiped by the Germanic peoples (Angles, Saxons, Jutes)
Northern European deities (like other European pantheons, mirrored their followers in their human-like behavior, likes, dislikes - whether for good or bad and were nothing like the insane demiurge of the Abrahamic religions.
Like many these days, Dawkins has his own cult, one of atheistic nihilism that worships orthodox science (because of course - they know everything!) - with followers as closed-minded and zealous as any religious fundamentalist.
