Now thats funny. Maybe why he is called Rush, lol.

I've been fortunate. I am off all drugs now just coming out of throat cancer. I used the Oxycodones and Morphine and was scared that I would be hooked, which my body did become hooked on, I think. Thank God I take none of it now, but the first 3 days were rough.

Oxycodone is 8 to 12 times more powerful than codeine.
I was using Oxycodone (Percocet, Percodan) and Hydrcodone (narcotic cough syrup) before Oxycontin was made popular among the opioid users.
What Oxycontin is, is Oxycodone in a continuous release tablet that is supposed to last for 12 hours...as in "Oxy continuous" release.

Oxycodone is 8 to 12 times more powerful than codeine and is actually synthetic morphine.

I've been on Methadone for 23 years and tried to come off it 6 times. The withdrawal from Methadone is usually 2 months. The last time I tried to quit I was in withdrawal for over 4 months when I saw my family Doctor who knows all of my medical history told me the Methadone has messed my brain.
The brain makes it's own 'feel good' chemicals known as endorphins. The Doctor told me my brain is no longer producing endorphins because the Methadone has been giving me all the endorphins I need, and then some.
So there you have it. If you have never touched hard drugs; do yourself a favor and don't touch the hard stuff.
1. You can count on getting addicted.
2. Once addicted one will almost do anything to get another 'hit'
3. Hard drugs will get you to three places: jail, the funny farm, or dead.
I've done all three and have fortunately made it through it all with just a bit of brain
damage. I can't see it but others notice it.
Methadone has it's good points too. One will settle down and change their life style because one's fix is waiting at the pharmacy every day. With that taken care of one can have a productive day. Many addicts work for a living, and are on time every day because they don't have to run around looking for a fix first.
