PARK FOREST, IL -- Police were called to a nursing home when a 95-year-old patient was being combative. He was waving a cane and a shoehorn and was being unruly with paramedics.
At some point he picked up a kitchen knife. That's when police shot him with a taser. When that didn't work, they employed a shotgun with beanbag rounds. They are considered "less than lethal" but are obviously very traumatic on a body. The old man died soon after.
