Lips like honey that I'd never kiss
An air tight door closing with a hiss
My woman now another man's mistress
Seemed like my life was completely amiss,

So across the ocean I flew in a jet
To see a little Asian girl I'd never met
An exercise in futility that I'd regret
In the year of 2013 another bad bet,

It's amazing how much one person can take
From another for heaven's sake
No matter how badly the heart will break
It all began with an apple tree and a snake,

Life twists and turns on an unknown path
We never realize when we tread on sacred wrath
All that love and pain just do the math
Just like an investor who took a bath,

Am I any wiser after so much sadness?
Walking through a world of madness
At that question I'd have to guess
Lest I make a mistake and start to regress,

Life is a journey that may not pan out
It leades us to questions and self doubt
It makes others scream and shout
Only God knows what it's all about,

I must have taken the path of wicked ways
Blinded by all the noise in the haze
Clutching for satisfaction in the maze
Perhaps thinking it was just a phase,

2013 the year of the jackal for me
Bound in chains when I wanted to be free
Even today thinking back my eyes get bleary
A year like this would leave anyone weary,

Forgiveness for most is an impossible feat
The remorse along with pain comes replete
Where betrayal and love sometimes meet
It's the movie of your life just take a seat.
