In a Ghostly Haze

There’s a black hole in my bed

As if everything’s been said

Missing memories in my head

All those lies we’ve been fed,

Why has it come to this?

There was a time I could find bliss

Now I’m staring at the abyss

Fighting this feeling of emptiness,

Somewhere there’s this vacuum in my soul

Can’t seem to find anything to make me whole

It’s my happiness that you stole

Like a shooter on the grassy knoll,

These days in a ghostly haze

While the sheep are amused by the latest craze

No, this is not a passing phase

Think I just saw my double in the maze,

Just bring my old world back

Was there some kind of psychic attack?

Sometimes I think I’m going to crack

Guess I have to keep on running with the pack,

I had just gotten there at the scene

The times they are a looking mean

I remember when it all seemed so serene

When will the corrupt courts ever convene?

And you in your silken dress

Thinking you can manipulate me under stress

When most fools would say yes

It’s just a convoluted game of chess!
