A Particular Point of View
There’s nobody for me to come home to
Thought I’d come up with many answers and knew
Truth was I didn’t have a clue
Seems like the world and everyone withdrew,
Living alone gives one a particular point of view
A greater appreciation for the magic of morning dew
Counting away the hours as the days grow few
Having to remember being betrayed by you,
I once lived in a romantic garden
There were possibilities no need to beg your pardon
Not so many faces of missing children on milk cartons
From unfaithful women I'm on the run,
In a dream world I meet the right one
Unlike constraints of the waking world that weigh a ton
A place that will be liberated someday by God’s son
Somehow I identify with the heroes who go unsung,

Somewhere there’s an angel I’m told looking down
Trying to keep me from losing my crown
Trying to prevent me from being too much of a clown
Trying to comfort me when I wear a frown,

Somewhere I’m told there’s a silver lining in every cloud
Just don’t get too optimistic or too proud
Too often today gunshots ring aloud
Living in a time when truth is not allowed,
The memories constantly swimming in my head
Living in a fake world of dread
Where spouses leave rather than love instead
It is upon this alter of love I have bled.
