The United States Geological Survey said a magnitude 7.4 earthquake was recorded Thursday evening in the Pacific Ocean off Alaska’s remote Aleutian Islands. A second quake of the same magnitude hit a half-minute later in the same vicinity, about 1,050 miles from Anchorage, and at the same depth, about 25 miles, the agency said. The Alaska Tsunami Warning Center posted a warning for parts of the Alaskan coast. There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage.
