An Illusion from my Dream

In a lucid moment as your hair falls down all around me

That whenever you are near I feel free

When I can forget about fear and preoccupation and just be

Like a Lighthouse you guide me in from the sea,

I’d almost forgotten joy and allowed sorrow to succeed

Living in this world of the evil men’s greed

Yet, here I am afraid to admit it’s you I need

Only with your love could I have planted the seed,

Just hold me until the dawn’s early light

Make me forget all those hopeless nights

Let us set sail for all the reasons love can be right

The water is calm the breeze is ours the future bright,

The ghosts of pain have been exorcized

My emotions no longer feel so compromised

I have a kindred spirit now who can empathize

Carrying me away from despair and debilitating lies,

Piercing the fog of doubt with an illumination

Surprised by the thrill of your sensation

Allowing me to rise above self-deprecation

Take my hand on the way to this destination,

I was a diver destined to drown from Lorelei’s kiss

Floundering in momentary shallow bliss

All the beauty and comfort that I missed

A hollow manner in which to exist,

You are but an illusion from my mind’s own made up scheme

The need to fulfill emotions within a dream

In a world where nothing is what it seems

In my imagination you shield me from the screams.
