CBS News has followed up on its first two “Project Gunwalker”* allegation  exposé pieces with a third installment from reporter Sharyl Attkisson, with a segment last night that included an interview with slain Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry’s sister (see sidebar video player).

On Thursday, The Los Angeles Times printed a follow-up by Kim Murphy to her investigative report from early February.

Now Mike M. Ahlers of CNN asks “Did ATF unwittingly help Border Patrol agent's killers?”

Even the BBC is beginning to notice.

Which makes the media’s performance at the Thursday’s White House press conference with Barack Obama and Felipe Calderón all the more curious.  The press is well aware of this story and of course the issue of guns came up—yet not one reporter saw fit to ask either man about agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives providing testimony and documentation to the Senate Judiciary Committee claiming bureau management allowed guns to be smuggled into Mexico.
