Community, it is a body of people living in the same place and having common rights, privileges, and interests. The community or culture with which one associates himself is a composition of education, family life, and ideologies. Community is a powerful force behind the development of an individual, yet at the same time can suppress another from his true self.
The social construction of the Bedouin society and the construction of the American society in Boyarin’s essay are very similarly connected. Both authors in turn try to point out that living on the marginalities of a society can shape and mold an individual, giving him more will power and strength to move on and prosper.
From the time one is born, his family plays a powerful role in the development of his identity. These people become the first teachers of the young child, who is fascinated by the world and willing to absorb all forms of knowledge. Members of family surround the child twenty-four hours a day and seven days a week, making the teachings of the family the backbone and foundation of the child’s life. The family establishes the basic knowledge, a foundation, for the child: basis for the values and ideals to develop. The family teaches the child religion, tradition, values and the culture of peace through family norms of duty and ethics.
Let all children find education as a key for survival, accomplishment, ambition and making a greater good for the future.
The art of teaching and the skill of learning go way beyond the boundaries of school walls and getting an A. The quote “Education is more then skills and knowledge; teaching is more then lecturing; learning is more than taking notes and doing assignments” means that learning is so much more then doing school work, listening to a teacher and getting good grades. Everyday of our lives we learn from and teach our peers. Knowledge is all around us waiting to be captured but sometimes we only see the small source of this great power. The essay’s “I am a cripple” by Nancy Mairs, “University Days” byJames Thurber and “Clamorous to learn” by Edora Welty all support this quote with their stories.
Learning from our peers goes back to a very early stage in our lives. The people who have been around us since this early stage have helped shape the person we are today. In Nancy Mairs’ “I am a cripple”, she talks about her life with multiple sclerosis. Nancy defies everything politically correct and blatantly states that she is a cripple and she doesn’t want people to pretend she’s not. She takes her life and turns it into a comical story though it still has didactic effect.
As a professor she has a major impact on her students.
Imagine your entire knowledge bank that has been built, in some cases, for over two decades, being completely erased. You no longer have any knowledge of written language, mathematics, or history. You can no longer continue to read this essay. Education is a tool that has been used throughout history and is enormously prevalent in almost every society.
In education and society Modern information technology is one of the most distinguished and interesting human inventions in history. Information technology has become a necessary social component is modern academic institutions. It plays a major role in today’s academic society with substantial communication and knowledge transformation activities ongoing. By helping people to increase awareness about their environment, information technology improves people’s lives through the provision of educational benefits. As a result, life has improved rapidly in recent times. Arguably this generation enjoys better educational opportunities than did those of generations before. There have been many changes and new ideas evolving in the academic world as information technology has become a major factor in influencing educational outcomes. In many academic areas, technology has become the determining consideration behind policy making decisions about education. Information Technology allows academic resources to be mobilized effectively so that more people will have wider access to educational materials regardless of their geographical locations, social status, etc. This approach to learning is often called distance education.
Technology can make remarkable contribution.
