BBC: 'Barcode Everyone at Birth' with 'implanted chips'

This week science fiction writer Elizabeth Moon argues that everyone should be given a barcode at birth.
“If I were empress of the Universe I would insist on every individual having a unique ID permanently attached - a barcode if you will; an implanted chip to provide an easy, fast inexpensive way to identify individuals.
It would be imprinted on everyone at birth. Point the scanner at someone and there it is.

At a later date the preconditioning makes it possible for them in an emergency likely of their own creation to say "we no longer have a choice this must be done for the good of the everyone" Imagine a plague hitting the world and only those who have a vaccination are allowed to be free and not under quarantine, they are marked with a "tag". Watch the movie contamination it's new and the use of bracelets can easily be replaced with RFID / microchips.

Interesting that this is not available to Brits...but only to those outside the UK.
Elizabeth Moon writes sci-fi military 'techno porn' - so she has a hardon for crap like this, and cites the usual BS justification excuses such as 'to tell friend from foe in combat'.
What do you expect from a woman that spouts stuff like “many Muslims have all the virtues of civilized persons”
