Because I Needed You

Heard your voice on the other side of the wall of noise

You know that stifling disinformation that destroys

The lies that steal all of our freedom and joys

Tried to pull you through that barrier that annoys,

With my hand I groped into that dimension of lies

To pull you out of the province of the flies

To save you from your assured demise

To liberate you from the shadows of compromise,

Words have meaning and even ideological leanings

The court of righteousness will be reconvening

For a perfect world I might as well be dreaming

Pardon my attempt at intervening,

My beautiful child if I could only be with you

Experience such a miracle one of the few

To save me from this world gone askew

Humility brings wisdom beneath its purview,

Like Beauty and the Beast a secret connection

A longing for an impossible affection

A beautiful melody within the woodwind section

Perhaps you don’t know it but you are perfection,

I came upon the shores of a land I thought I knew

Not to conquer most certainly not seeking a coup

I came because of the beautiful view

I came here my Dear because I needed you,

The spiritually gifted attract others like moths to a flame

As though a hunter carefully taking aim

Discerning between the good and the insane

Love rarely knocks twice on this spiritual plane.
