Between You and I
A sacred heart is hard to find
Like a storm cloud that’s silver lined
Like digging for gold in a copper mine
As though the world forgot how to be kind,
Drugged by Cupid’s poisoned dart
A society built upon broken hears
The heart does not grow fonder when apart
The ignorant always think they’re smart,
The sacred heart almost an illusion
I’m lost in all the confusion
Too many in this world misled by delusion
Satan and our government in collusion,
Started out in the very beginning
Gods of misfortune glared at me grinning
Romance has no happy Hollywood ending
Too far off the beach and still swimming,
A sacred heart like a cloud in the sky
What really exists between you and I ?
What lives in the past doesn’t always die
Baby dry those tears in your eyes,
In a perfect world they would say
Something that just doesn’t exist today
They burned up in an orbital decay
Wishing to live just one more day,
Here I am waiting for you
Waiting for my dreams to come through
Words are easy but they’re not always true
The sacred heart for which there are too few.
