I can remember a simpler time when babies fussed

Drinking alone now seems to be a predestined fact

I wonder how much the odds against us were stacked
How did we even get God smacked?
Now seemingly covered in moon dust
Seems there won’t be much interest in lust

Brighter than a thousand suns
Just enough to disintegrate my honey buns
Is there anything left alive that flies or runs?
Maybe count the bodies for recreation and fun,
Gosh, how my priorities have shifted
How far has the plutonium drifted?
Through the rubble I have sifted
Will it matter at all if I was ever gifted?
No birds in the sky or crickets chirping, wonder why?
Trying to fight the urge to cry
Would an extraterrestrial civilization even care to sigh?
Survive? Why should I even try?
