Can’t See the Signs

Dreams like morning clouds burned off by the sun

I’m afraid that truth and decency are on the run

Government insanity has the people under the gun

That face on the beer is supposed to redefine fun?

Trying to find some meaning in a fog of lies

Seems to me that no one even tries

The political prisoners I can hear their cries

Truth and justice are what the liars defy,

The waking nightmare that starts each day

Can you even believe what the news will say?

Trust in mankind seems blown away

Better get down on your knee and pray,

The news is in from the eastern Bloc

The entire region is in for a shock

Who’s at the door I just heard a knock

Maybe mankind needs to get off this rock,

Try not to get too sentimental now

Between the AI robots and the sacred cows

Another shot fired across the bow

Your wife walked out wearing a scowl,

Alien artifacts on the surface of the moon

Our concept of history must change soon

Economic failure they call a balloon

A once great nation all in ruin,

The fools just can’t see the signs

The mass hysteria of the times

Used up poets and their rhymes

My faith in the future aint worth a dime.
