You feel as powerless as a field mouse
You grope through the chaos to grab your spouse
She's sucked into the air as if flying off like a grouse!

It's late at night you see a strange light in the sky
You're peering upwards wondering who, what, or why
it seems unreal and if it lands would you die?
Vague memories of strange entities make you cry,

By design, Captain Reality bewilders you!
Makes you question everything you thought you knew
It seems your entire world has gone askew
Normality has escaped you this is how uncertainty grew,

You're a first responder arriving at the scene
A burning house greets your team
Shots ring out hitting your crew
An assassin has set a trap for you,

Captain Reality is full of grim surprises
Just another fatality as the smoke rises
A lone gunman the police chief surmises
We're victims no matter what Captain Reality devises,

You're orbiting the earth in your spacecraft
You might as well be in a vast sea on a life raft
Mission control loses contact you've been given the shaft
Inside your helmet, you hear Captain Reality as he laughed!

Oh, but don't you take it so bad
Your fledgling grip on life is all you had
Leaving widows and survivors regrettably sad
Either Captain Reality is just bad luck or simply mad.
