Documents analyzed over the past few days in this column, received from a source close to the case of former FBI agent John Shipley, convicted of illegally dealing in firearms, indicate not only a pattern of government-sanctioned “gunwalking” similar to what occurred in the Fast and Furious debacle, but also raise suspicions that federal agents lied on the application to obtain a search warrant for Shipley’s residence.
In previous installments of this exclusive story, Gun Rights Examiner documented how collector and hobbyist Shipley sold a Barrett .50 caliber rifle to a former deputy, who then resold it to a trafficker with a Mexican address on his Texas driver license. Next, the cooperation with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explo... by the Federal Firearms Licensee who brokered the gun sale was documented. It was then demonstrated that ATF, which was surveilling the trafficker and getting intelligence from the dealer, must have either deliberately turned a blind eye to a serious violation of gun laws by its informant FFL, or, more probably, authorized the sale that took place in the parking lot of Collector’s Gun Exchange in El Paso, where a mysterious and unidentified subject (a law enforcement agent?) transferred the weapon to the trafficker. And in yesterday’s piece of the puzzle, tactics designed by the government to prejudice the jury into delivering a guilty verdict were documented.
