Cruise Lines Abandon Southern California (original content)

Once again we see the results of bad government policies and the effects they are having on two countries.  The violence in Mexico,  a consequence of the failed War on Drugs, is keeping tourists away.  Therefore the cruise lines are eliminating some of the popular cruises to Mexico which depart from Southern California and are sending their ships to more profitable ports.  Cruise lines depend on both foreign and domestic tourists flying in to the ports of departure.  But the TSA and our airport security policies are keeping foreign tourists out of this country and keeping domestic travelers at home.  Add to that the high unemployment and job losses from our failed economic policies along with California's anti-business regulations and the port cities in California and along Mexico's Riviera will be hit hard from the decrease in cruise ship voyages.

In retrospect, I'm glad that I went on two of these popular cruises a few years ago.  Mexico is a beautiful country with friendly people.  It breaks my heart to think of the businesses that will be impacted on both sides of the border and especially in the Mexican port cities who desperately depend on tourist dollars brought in on the cruise ships.

Oh, and uh, Carnival surely doesn't want another of its ships knocked out by another Chinese sub EMP weapon, so it's time to say, adiós California y México.

@ Vincent, it really seems like they don't want us to travel, doesn't it?  All it takes is for the State Dept to issue a travel warning, and there goes the tourist business for that country for a long while. I'm looking forward to that day of reckoning, my friend.

Cruise Lines have been advertising in Europe, Mexico and the rest of Latin America for several years announcing departures from Cozumel or other Ports of Call in the Caribbean to their Caribbean circuit in order to avoid the hassle of getting an American Visa

@Sor3n...I know just how the cabin boy feels.  It's time to jump ship!

Now Nikki the question is were they trying to keep the cruise lines afloat(in business) with that move or was it because the elite hold shares...actually it's probably indicative of both... see it's information like that that helps me see a bigger picture ..the spheres within spheres .

Call me paranoid but it all just seems to point to it all being orchestrated.

Speaking of ships have you seen the play by Ted Kazcinski  "ship of fools" ? He wrote it and someone animated it ..lemme see here... k here    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CKh1mOeXfqE          there tell me what you think .

LOL, Sor3n...if it's profitable for the cruise lines it's possible.  The govt signed a very expensive 6 month contract with Carnival for three ships after Katrina even though the Greek govt had offered to send 2 ships for free.

Those ships will be put to use when they start sending us to the fema camps .

Maasanova, for sure some places are risky right now, many people will put off visiting the pyramids.  And travel will be hurt in countries with high unemployment but it's still good in some emerging economies.

I can't see the travel industry lasting much longer with all the world's events going the way they are.

Update: a border patrol agent was fired for expressing his personal opinion that legalization would stop the violence at the border.
