Didn’t Quite Work Out
You were always good at tying your shoes
Never thought in the game of life you’d lose
Then you found out most people don’t have a clue
Seems you never stop having to pay your dues,
In this world full of frenzied events
Getting harder to find any confidence
Especially when you have a lying president
Tent cities and human excrement,
Didn’t quite work out so here you are
Things fizzled out just like a shooting star
And you anticipated going so far
She learned about love in the backseat of a car,
There are always alternatives
How to strike back at where the megalomaniacs live
Is this what happens when you give and give?
Betrayed so many times it’s hard to outlive,
The night moves in and casts an ominous shadow
Just like the death of variety shows
Wondering who left those huge footprints in the snow
Watching your life decline blow by blow,
Sadly for you she had a troubled childhood
Couldn’t make it work even if it was good
Always settling for what you could
But doing less than you should,
Lost potential victimizing us all
Gone are the blissful days at the mall
Did we set ourselves up for the final fall?
Integrity and truth, an order much too tall.
"Destroying the New World Order"
