Let down your hair leave it right there

When was the last time I had someone who cared?

Dreams flow off your shoulders so bare

Am I imagining an angel who will vanquish this despair?

Am I just a fool destined to chase shadows this way?

It seems the ones you truly love always stray

How many poor souls have cried, “Stay Baby please stay?”

I can hear their tears in the darkness from where I lay,

Child come take my hand to the Promised Land

Let’s pray it will all go as planned

All too often love crumbles on shifting sand

In a world that for all purposes is dammed,

Let your hair brush my face such a sacred place

Don’t let this dream vanish without a trace

Let us share our love in this time and space,

It just doesn’t seem right in the emptiness of night

That this love could simply be a phantom in flight

In the twilight I gasp, “Where did you go?”
