The astral priestess of the night
Seduces me from beneath starlight
My waking mind resists her with all my might
But finally the shadows winning the fight,

Take me now to your reflective pond
I'm ready to forget and drift beyond
Weightless now breaking gravity's bond

Far from the grief I made for myself
I can finally put my regrets on the shelf
Did I hear the whisper of a little elf?
Now where did my celestial mistress hide herself?

Skimming the surface of a black reflective lake
I wonder how many souls it could take
Wondering how many tears this would make
No love is here but you can have the cake,

A glowing cavern of hollow delight
Spacious and empty swallowing light
The stars within flicker out of sight
Fog thickens as the spirits invite,

Dancing like embers just above a flame
Selfless innocent and unashamed
Intertwined within my spellbound brain
I wonder vaguely will I ever be the same?

A crystalline castle in nocturnal abyss
Hearing an emerald cobra emit a hiss
A comet's tale leaves me a kiss
At least tonight I'm not sleepless,

Somewhere in my hopes and dreams
I drift back in time to previous schemes
Where my sorrows are captured by moonbeams
I have not yet died or so it seems,

Chasing the heart of a concubine
A useless exercise she could never be mine
Heartless is the galactic brine
Crossing that mystical borderline,

By the time I awake the messenger has passed
His cosmic trail lights the night at last
How many times for this role have I been cast?
A galactic river with a current too fast,

Pulls me through the gates of dawn
Nocturnal spirits are almost gone
The emergence of the gentle fawn
Birds in the air and squirrels on the lawn,

Ghosts of the night hide from the sun
Once too weary it's all been undone
Another morning and a breakfast honey bun
Back to a world where another race will be run.
