EXCLUSIVE: Twitter Suspends U.S. Border Chief For Celebrating Wall’s Protection From Illegal Aliens

EXCLUSIVE: Twitter Suspends U.S. Border Chief For Celebrating Wall’...

Twitter suspended U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Commissioner Mark Morgan for a post celebrating the success of the U.S. southern border wall keeping violent criminals from reaching American communities.

According to screenshots shared exclusively with The Federalist, Twitter locked Morgan’s account Wednesday afternoon for apparently violating platform rules governing “hateful conduct” after the commissioner attempted to tweet about the wall’s benefits.

“You may not promote violence against, threaten, or harass other people on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, religious affiliation, age, disability, or serious disease,” Twitter wrote in an email explaining the suspension. As is clear from the banned post’s text, the commissioner did not threaten anyone based on race, national origin, or anything else.

Those who illegally enter the United States are of many different ethnicities and foreign nationalities, including people who travel from other continents to South America to take advantage of southern border human smuggling routes.

In recent weeks, the commissioner had been free to publish content on the site touting the accomplishments of border agents keeping America safe. It’s not clear what has recently changed in Twitter’s algorithm or policing that resulted in this post’s shutdown of his account when other similar posts went unblocked.

“If you look at the tweet in question again,” Morgan told The Federalist, speaking of the problematic post that provoked the suspension, “every mile helps us stop gang members, murderers, and pedophiles from entering our country. It’s just a fact.”

Twitter, Morgan said, blocked the post anyway and reprimanded the commissioner without consulting with the Department of Homeland Security to discuss the efficacy of the border wall stopping criminals from illegally entering the country.

“I’m sure somebody on that Twitter team has heard that everyone that illegally enters are just good people looking for a better way of life,” Morgan said, emphasizing that the company’s suspension ultimately harms the American people by leaving uncountered the left-wing refusal to acknowledge the dangerous foreign citizens who trespass across the U.S. border, almost always with the help of international criminal drug cartels. “The American people ultimately don’t get to hear the truth because someone at Twitter, based on their own ideology, pushed a button to prevent the truth from coming out.”

The wall, which DHS reported is on track to reach 450 miles of construction by the year’s end under the Trump administration, has indeed been working by forcing border-crossers to ports of entry, where agents are better equipped to catch criminals and process those wishing to enter legally. Border Patrol encounters with illegal migrants have dropped more than 50 percent since 2019 as the wall deters aliens from risking the trip.

A spokesperson for Twitter told The Federalist Thursday afternoon that the decision to lock Morgan’s account was “reversed after further evaluation.”

While the Silicon Valley tech giant censors the CPB commissioner for “hateful conduct,” posts from Iran’s Ayatollah Khamenei calling for the destruction of Israel remain unchecked.

Morgan’s censorship came on the same day Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey faced questions from Senate lawmakers over the website’s election interference with biased content moderation. When pressed on the Ayatollah’s tweets in particular by multiple senators, Dorsey claimed the Iranian leader’s posts didn’t violate company guidelines.

“We did not find those to violate our terms of service because we considered them ‘saber rattling,’ which is part of the speech of world leaders in concert with other countries,” Dorsey said.

President Donald Trump, on the other hand, has been subject to censorship for merely threatening to send in the National Guard to quell the violent riots sweeping the country in May, which the company condemned as “glorifying violence.”
