Environmental Poisons in bags of popcorn destroys the vaccination of children

A number of Danish researchers reveals a new study that up to every ten children have so few antibodies in the blood that they risk becoming infected with diphtheria or tetanus, although they are vaccinated.

The study is the bad effect of the vaccines closely with the high concentrations of polyfluorinated compounds (PFCs) children had blood before vaccination.

Only cancer drugs and radiation produces the same effect

Philippe Grandjean and his colleagues conducted the study in the Faroe Islands. They took a blood sample from mother to newborn child before birth and a new test immediately before the fourth vaccination for diphtheria and tetanus in the age of five. They were used to determine the content of polyfluorinated substances in the blood.

In addition, children's levels of antibodies studied just before the last vaccination, and when they had filled seven years. The largest drop in vaccination efficacy researchers noted in the children who had many fluorine compounds in the blood at the age of five.

A thousand polyfluorinated substances. They are used for a multitude of purposes, which exploits the fact that they are both fat and water repellent. Most prevalent are the substances in the impregnation of clothes, for example. Gore-Tex, rugs and other textiles and the production of non-stick pans and pots.

But last year measured a doctoral thesis from the Technical University of polyfluorinated compounds in six out of ten cardboard and paper packaging for food.


The main culprit was microwave popcorn bags, some of which according to estimates from the Department sends as much pollutant into the popcorn that it exceeds the limit, also called the tolerable daily intake.

Polyfluorinated substances degrade very slowly in both body and organism. They also accumulate in the food chain and include PCBs. Faroese large intakes of fish, shellfish and marine mammals is the reason that these studies will be conducted there. Faroese has also much higher concentration of PCBs in their blood than Danes.

But Philippe Grandjean emphasizes that when it comes polyfluorinated substances, so the Danes are just as exposed as the Faroese.

"The Faroese children are probably more PFCs from their marine diet, but in return less from wall to wall carpeting and pizza boxes than Danish children," says the professor.
