This is a blog about the First amendment right of religion. As we all know the first amendment gives us the right to practice any religion we freely choose. I quote the Bill Of Rights: "Amendment I:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof."

Much debate has been spent on this one sentence. The lawyers have used it to remove any mention of God from our government, prayer from our schools, and the display of religious things on public land. Now I know it’s been twisted and skewered over the years, but the Supreme Court has stated over and over that the Constitution as written is to be taken verbatim. To me, the law means simply that the government cannot establish a national religion. Be it Christian, Muslim, Jewish, Druid, or anything else. It does not forbid, but encourages the practice for ourselves! Can you show me where it says we can’t have prayer in school? Before games? Or memorials for slain teachers or students? giving thanks to God for your lunch? As I read it no. It’s not there. The ACLU has removed it by suing any government entity or citizen that exercises their First Amendment right. Makes you think just whose side they are on doesn’t it? They say they are looking out for us, but most of us don’t agree with them.  Growing up with religious symbols in my school, courthouse, county buildings, police stations etc. I saw no problem with it. Also why is it inappropriate to have a manger scene or menorah, but not a Christmas tree in the town square or the White House lawn? Isn’t Christmas a Christian holy day? What’s the difference? There is none!! It’s still a religious symbol. Recognized around the world to signify the birth of Christ! Why is our Government so afraid to follow the laws our fore fathers wrote? Because they get sued every time they do. So they “make it go away” to placate a minority organization to not give them grief. And when are we as citizens going to get off our asses and tell our elected officials that “we the people” are the power in this country, and we demand that our freedom to exercise our religions anywhere and everywhere we so choose, must be fully restored? I have spent many hours e-mailing my elected officials over this and other things I find they are doing that are detrimental to my “Life, Liberty, and Pursuit of Happiness." Every one bitches about “the Government” but when it comes to Election Day where are they? Not in the voting booth! “Oh my vote won’t count!” Of course not you didn’t cast it! “We can’t change anything” Wrong! Look at the numbers from any past election. How many people cast votes? How many registered voters were there? What is the difference between the two? And how many eligible voters are there that don’t even register? That’s how many votes were “Lost”, “Didn’t count”, “Won’t change things”!  The politicians count on this each and every election! Voter apathy! It keeps the Status Quo! IF YOU DON’T VOTE, YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO BITCH!! You want it to get better? You want change you can believe in? You want to reign in the bloated government? THEN GET OFF YOUR ASS, TURN OF THE T.V. GET OUT AND VOTE! Each and every time. To not exercise your rights plays right into their hands. You give them up without a fight! Well I vote every time there is a chance to do so. I make my voice heard. Sure I get wet, cold, grumpy, STAND IN LINE (Thank God there are others like me in front and behind!)  But by God I tell them what I think. They are afraid of that. It makes them liable to us. Your vote is your power over them, and their “new world order of sheeple”. So my fellow Americans, honor your forefathers, service men and women, friends, neighbors, foes, et all, and vote, vote, vote!! Not only will this restore Freedom of Religion, it will restore all the freedoms we have under the Declaration of Independence, The Constitution and The Bill Of Rights. Because we will finally let them know “we are the power, we can and will vote you out!” Believe me you will miss it when it’s gone, and you’ll never get it back without a long bloody fight. That’s how we got it, and if necessary that’s how we will preserve it. It is our right, our duty, and our obligation to check and balance the Government, not let them do it for us. I bid you good day. And let me add; GOD BLESS AMERICA!

I pledge: Allegiance to the Republic of the United States of America and promise to Protect, Defend and Honor the Constitution and Bill of Rights as written by the Founders of this nation. To Honor the Words, Spirit and Intent of the Declaration Of Independence in our continued battle against all manner of tyranny, enslavement and servitude. And to preserve our Unalienable God Given Rights from assault by the many enemies of Freedom, foreign or domestic.

I never said the pledge of allegiance, I always refused. They interrupted my day by making me stand for it anyway. It was a daily disruption without any point except for propaganda and rote conditioning.

Do you feel the same way about the Pledge of Alligance in school? If one doesn't want to participate they can do something else. I don't remember class being disrupted when we had our morning prayer. It's still Freedom of Choice.

There is no freedom of religion without freedom from religion. Disrupting a classroom for one religion's prayer means interrupting the classroom for every religion's prayer while everyone else is held hostage to your chosen display of religion, It's not that hard to understand really, get used to it.
