Fulfillments of Daniel 11
This is a study of the Book of Daniel written by one of my friends, Steven Farr from Texas. He was a researcher of the Kennedy Assassination for many years and later got spooked away from it. He decided being a missionary was safer.
While doing the research on the Book of Daniel he noticed that that in the older Standard Encyclopedia ( from 1968 ?)when comparing with the newer encyclopedia (of 1984) that they were different and it appeared that the newer one had omitted / failed to mention some of the facts in the history he had been researching.
He doesn't cover the whole end time scenario because obviously it hasn't happened yet. But I found the prophecy so amazingly accurate to history, that it must be that the rest is going to happen sooner or later and like Jesus once said,”Not one jot or tittle of the law shall fail” meaning the Bible, Gods word.
If you read it and have questions that's o.k. . I do a lot of wondering about the Bible myself.
These are the first 21 verses of Daniel chapter 11.
1 Also I in the first year of Darius the Mede, even I, stood to confirm and to strengthen him.
In this verse where it says “I” is the same in Daniel 9:1
However, the vision was given in the 3rd year of Cyrus the king of Persia... Dan. 10:1
2 And now will I shew thee the truth. Behold, there shall stand up yet three kings in Persia; and the fourth shall be far richer than they all: and by his strength through his riches he shall stir up all against the realm of Grecia.
“This is a continuation of Chapter 10 which shows the battle that took place in the spirit for Daniel to receive the vision.
Xerxes the 1st was the fourth king in Persia. In 483 BC he collected perhaps the largest army that had ever been assembled. It included half a million men from all parts of the Empire.
Xerxes set out with an immense fleet that the Phoenicians had assembled for him.
In 481 BC he invaded Greece and won a victory at Thermopylae.
He entered into Athens and burned down all the houses and temples However, in480 BC his fleet was crushed at the sea battle of Salamis and what was left of his army was defeated the next year at Plataeu.
3 And a mighty king shall stand up, that shall rule with great dominion, and do according to his will.
Alexander the Great conquered the Persian Empire in 3 major battles, Granlous in 334 BC, Alexander defeated Darius the 3rds army of 500,000 men with a meager force of only 50,000 men.
4 And when he shall stand up, his kingdom shall be broken, and shall be divided toward the four winds of heaven; and not to his posterity, nor according to his dominion which he ruled: for his kingdom shall be plucked up, even for others beside those.
After his conquests Alexander returned to Baylon to begin the governing of his empire, but at the young age of 33 he became ill and died on June 13 323 bc,
Antigonus, his strongest general, fought for 20 years, 321 BC to 301 BC against the other generals attempting to unite the Empire under himself.
In 301BC, the 4 opposing Generals: Ptolemy, Lysimachus, Cassander, nd Seleucus united to defeat Antigonus in a battle of the city of Ipsus in central Turkey. Ptolemy took Egypt and Libyia in North Africa including Palestine as far as Damascus.
Lysimachus took most of Asia minor, Cassander took Macedenia and Greece.
Seleucus claimed Syria, Babylonia, Persia, Pakistan and Afghanistan.
5 ¶And the king of the south shall be strong, and one of his princes; and he shall be strong above him, and have dominion; his dominion shall be a great dominion.
Ptolemy the first was one of Alexanders the Great's favorite Generals.
Born in Macedonia, he seized Egypt as his share of the Empire. He developed Egypt into a great commercial nation. He fostered learning and established the museum and library at Alexanderia. He was considered the greatest king of the Macedonian line. Ptolemy and his prince ,carriedon wars in Syria and the Aegean Sea extending the Kingdom and adding Nubia
6 And in the end of years they shall join themselves together; for the king's daughter of the south shall come to the king of the north to make an agreement: but she shall not retain the power of the arm; neither shall he stand, nor his arm: but she shall be given up, and they that brought her, and he that begat her, and he that strengthened her in these times.
In verse 6 “the end of years” refers to the end of years of the kingdom of the South.
In verse 5, the Ptolemy dynasty
The following is taken from the New Standard Encyclopedia describing the events surrounding “the kings daughter of the South, Cleopatra. The king of the North, Julius Caesar” and, “he that strengthened her in these times.
Mark Anthony, note that, Neither shall he stand on his part” refers to Julius Caesar's assassination .
Cleopatra ,(69 – 30 BC) A queen of Egypt of the Ptolemy Dynasty. She was a handsome, able and ambitious woman noted for her charm. Her kingdom was one of the old sub-divsions of the Empire of Alexander the great. It's capital was Alexandria. At first Cleopatra shared the throne with her younger brother, Ptolemy the 12th, whom she married according to the custom in Egypt. After Ptolemy drove Cleopatra from the throne, (49BC) she used her attractions to get the aid of Julius Caesar, who had followed Ptolemy to Egypt. Caesar helped her to defeat Ptolemy, who was killed, and restored her to the Egyptian Throne as a joint ruler with her youngest brother,Ptolemy the 13th.
Cleopatra bore Caesar a son called “Caesar ion” (Little Caesar).
In 46BC a year after Caesar's return to Rome, Cleopatra joined him there. She returned to Egypt after Caesar's assassination in 44BC and soon poisoned her brother to get complete control of the throne
In 43 BC Mark Anthony, who shared Roman rule with Octavian (later called Augustus), ordered Cleopatra to appear before him to determine her allegiance. Anthony fell in love with her and remained in Egypt with her for a time. She bore him several children. When Anthony returned home, he was married to Octavian's sister but later abandoned her after some years and rejoined Cleopatra in Egypt where he lived in luxurious pleasure loving life.
Octavian, angry at this desertion of his sister and ambitous to rule alone, declared war on Egypt and defeated Anthony in a navel battle of Actium in 31 BC.
The next year Octavian invaded Egypt, believing Cleopatra was dead, Anthony killed himself.
Cleopatra next tried unsuccessfully to win the favor of Octavian as she had with Caesar and Anthony but later came to realize that Octavian planned to exhibit her in his military triumph in Rome. To escape this humiliation she killed herself. The legend says that she allowed an asp to bite her.
Her son Caesar ion was killed by Octavian that same year.
Cleopatra's death marked an end of the 21 year reign of the Ptolemy of Egypt.
7 But out of a branch of her roots shall one stand up in his estate, which shall come with an army, and shall enter into the fortress of the king of the north, and shall deal against them, and shall prevail:
8 And shall also carry captives into Egypt their gods, with their princes, and with their precious vessels of silver and of gold; and he shall continue more years than the king of the north.
9 So the king of the south shall come into his kingdom, and shall return into his own land.
The king of the North, Rome, or also known as the Byzantine Empire, ruled Greece, the Middle East, and North Africa.
Western Rome had fallen by 445 AD.
After the death of Mohammad in 623 AD numerous Arab leaders called the caliph were called to unite the people under the Islamic religion.
Arabic power grew until 711 when the Muslims invaded Europe in the West they conquered Spain and Portugal and crossed the Pyrenees Mountains into France. They were stopped by Charles Martel at the battle of Tours in 732. In the East they also had conquered most of the Byzantine Empire except for Asia minor and Greece. As it states in verse 9 in 1063, they are conquered by Seljuk Turks in the East and are forced out of almost all of Spain during this time
10 But his sons shall be stirred up, and shall assemble a multitude of great forces: and one shall certainly come, and overflow, and pass through: then shall he return, and be stirred up, even to his fortress.
This seems to be describing an occurrence that happened during the crusades. Seljuk's and other Turkish tribes and sons attacked by the Byzantine Empire and took Anatolia.
The Byzantine Emperor asked the European countries for help and in 1097 the first army of crusaders defeated the Seljuk Turks. They took Jerusalem on July 15, 1099.
There were two other crusades. The third of which was the famous conflict between Richard the Lion-hearted and Saladin, the Sword of Islam.
11 And the king of the south shall be moved with choler, and shall come forth and fight with him, even with the king of the north: and he shall set forth a great multitude; but the multitude shall be given into his hand.
12 And when he hath taken away the multitude, his heart shall be lifted up; and he shall cast down many ten thousands: but he shall not be strengthened by it.
The Ottoman Turks rose to power during the 1400's to become the “New” King of the South. They attacked the king of the North, the Byzantine Empire and by 1453 the Ottoman Turks had conquered the whole Byzantine Empire except for Constantinople. They lay siege to the city for 54 days and pounded the wall with cannon fire. The fall of the city was the end of Eastern Rome. As when the crusaders took Jerusalem, no one was left alive, neither woman, nor children were spared. War is not beautiful. It is hateful to the innocent and horrible to see.
13 For the king of the north shall return, and shall set forth a multitude greater than the former, and shall certainly come after certain years with a great army and with much riches. *
14 And in those times there shall many stand up against the king of the south: also the robbers of thy people shall exalt themselves to establish the vision; but they shall fall. *
15 So the king of the north shall come, and cast up a mount, and take the most fenced cities: and the arms of the south shall not withstand, neither his chosen people, neither shall there be any strength to withstand. *
16 But he that cometh against him shall do according to his own will, and none shall stand before him: and he shall stand in the glorious land, which by his hand shall be consumed.
*
Remembering that the king of the South in verse 14 is the Ottoman Empire, the king of the North in verse 13 would be the rise of the British Empire.
We know this because of verses 15 & 16.
In WW1,which of these verses are describing the British Army fought against the Ottoman Empire in 1914. During this conquest the British took the city of Jerusalem and Palestine. They controlled them from 1914 to 1948. They have been the only “King of the North” to stand in the “Glorious land” except for Rome and the crusaders that controlled Jerusalem from 1099 to 1187.
17 He shall also set his face to enter with the strength of his whole kingdom, and upright ones with him; thus shall he do: and he shall give him the daughter of women, corrupting her: but she shall not stand on his side, neither be for him.
WW1and WW2 seems to flow together as in verse 17 continues to describe the “great conflict. I believe “the daughter of women” was Eastern Europe and the Potts dam and Yalta treaties at the end of WW2. Churchill and Roosevelt at Yalta ( later Trueman at Potsdam) betrayed Eastern Europe to the anti-God Communists by giving Stalin the Eastern half of Europe “ corrupting her” and as we all know and have seen “ she shall not be for him”
18 After this shall he turn his face unto the isles, and shall take many:
The only kingdom to take many islands has been the British/ U.S. Empire. If you look on a map of the world almost all of the worlds islands are controlled by the British, the U.S. Or France (one of the upright ones with him)
In the 2nd half of the same verse it says,
but a prince for his own behalf shall cause the reproach offered by him to cease; without his own reproach he shall cause it to turn upon him.
Now in the 18thb verse the only “prince” that stopped “him”, was the king of the North, (U.S. & Britain) from taking the world was Russia.
19 Then he shall turn his face toward the fort of his own land: but he shall stumble and fall, and not be found.
This describes exactly the fall of the Russian Empire. They were not conquered in battle by another country. They simply stumbled and fell and cannot be found.
20 Then shall stand up in his estate a raiser of taxes in the glory of the kingdom: but within few days he shall be destroyed, neither in anger, nor in battle.
* Here we see another leader in Russia to raise taxes to keep the country going. However after a short time he is destroyed or killed.
21 And in his estate shall stand up a vile person, to whom they shall not give the honor of the kingdom: but he shall come in peaceably, and obtain the kingdom by flatteries.
22 And with the arms of a flood shall they be overflown from before him, and shall be broken; yea, also the prince of the covenant.
This very clearly shows that after the death of this Russian leader in verse 20, the raiser of taxes “a vile person” shall take over who shall be the “Anti-Christ” The rest of the story hasn't happened yet.
23 And after the league made with him he shall work deceitfully: for he shall come up, and shall become strong with a small people.
24 He shall enter peaceably even upon the fattest places of the province; and he shall do that which his fathers have not done, nor his fathers' fathers; he shall scatter among them the prey, and spoil, and riches: yea, and he shall forecast his devices against the strong holds, even for a time.
25 And he shall stir up his power and his courage against the king of the south with a great army; and the king of the south shall be stirred up to battle with a very great and mighty army; but he shall not stand: for they shall forecast devices against him.
26 Yea, they that feed of the portion of his meat shall destroy him, and his army shall overflow: and many shall fall down slain.
27 And both these kings' hearts shall be to do mischief, and they shall speak lies at one table; but it shall not prosper: for yet the end shall be at the time appointed.
28 Then shall he return into his land with great riches; and his heart shall be against the holy covenant; and he shall do exploits, and return to his own land.
29 At the time appointed he shall return, and come toward the south; but it shall not be as the former, or as the latter.
30 ¶For the ships of Chittim shall come against him: therefore he shall be grieved, and return, and have indignation against the holy covenant: so shall he do; he shall even return, and have intelligence with them that forsake the holy covenant.
31 And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength, and shall take away the daily sacrifice, and they shall place the abomination that maketh desolate. *
32 And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits. *
33 And they that understand among the people shall instruct many: yet they shall fall by the sword, and by flame, by captivity, and by spoil, many days.
34 Now when they shall fall, they shall be holpen with a little help: but many shall cleave to them with flatteries.
35 And some of them of understanding shall fall, to try them, and to purge, and to make them white, even to the time of the end: because it is yet for a time appointed. *
36 And the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvelous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished: for that that is determined shall be done.
37 Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god: for he shall magnify himself above all.
38 But in his estate shall he honor the God of forces: and a god whom his fathers knew not shall he honor with gold, and silver, and with precious stones, and pleasant things.
39 Thus shall he do in the most strong holds with a strange god, whom he shall acknowledge and increase with glory: and he shall cause them to rule over many, and shall divide the land for gain.
40 And at the time of the end shall the king of the south push at him: and the king of the north shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow and pass over.
41 He shall enter also into the glorious land, and many countries shall be overthrown: but these shall escape out of his hand, even Edom, and Moab, and the chief of the children of Ammon.
42 He shall stretch forth his hand also upon the countries: and the land of Egypt shall not escape.
43 But he shall have power over the treasures of gold and of silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt: and the Libyans and the Ethiopians shall be at his steps.
44 But tidings out of the east and out of the north shall trouble him: therefore he shall go forth with great fury to destroy, and utterly to make away many.
45 And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him.
