That’s because, as Bloomberg reports, Goldman Sachsemployees and their families have given almost half a million dollars to the Romney campaign. Most of the donations we saw from this disclosure (which goes back to October) were for $2,500, the most a person can give to an individual candidate (yes, there are loopholes but that’s another post).

In fact, 8 of the top ten donors to Romney’s campaign come from the financial services industry. That’s some definite dollar power, but here’s the rub: In total, Romney raised $57 million last year, Obama, on the other hand, raised $58.5 million from donations of $200 or less alone.
