There are pictures I posted up there for you to see that we need to do something about it. It's been not working since the last release of Ubuntu 10.10. So this might be the October surprise that is effecting linux users worldwide. When I download the .bin file it starts to give me a parser error and there is no way to fix it. I have talked to technical support about the error and they said that the code for Google Earth is proprietary and it cannot be fixed by the community. Now most of my computers that run on linux does not have google Earth, but for Windows, which I will get Windows XP reinstalled in January 2011 and will have access to Google Earth. I have tried to get in touch with Google and their automated system said they don't offer phone support. When you post on the answers column people understand, but Google does not care to answer.
I want everyone to try linux and test out google Earth to see if it works or doesn't. This maybe the October surprise in computing history. I don't know, but it might be.
