I’ve done that marriage thing

Nothing like infidelity to tarnish a wedding ring

Oh how those words sting

Forgive me for out loud thinking,

Trouble has come over the horizon

They say the fix is in

Our leaders say lying isn’t a sin

You don’t even need an FBI badge of tin,

Hard times for those who really care

Attacked by those who can’t see evil anywhere

Go to Washington DC and get your share

The DC police will be glad to show you a prison cell there,

What happened to that beacon of light?

What happened to a good woman to hold you tight?

Why do we keep hanging on for the fight?

Because it’s a matter of what’s wrong or right,

Hard times for those who seek the truth

Can’t find the answer in a bottle of Vermouth
