Is Anyone Sentimental Anymore?

Life today spawned from a new intellectual décor

Few are ever satisfied and want more

If it’s not their way then hit the door

Isn’t anyone sentimental anymore?

Young couples struggling through

Hard for them to see the greater view

Distortions of reality too much fat to chew

Nothing like being betrayed by you,

The expressions on most of their faces so dull

No imagination no awareness mind is half full

Illumination, too heavy a cart to pull

And you wonder why there are rats in my skull,

Life without a cell phone and video games what a bore

Little in the way of meaning at their core

Morality, so much easier just to ignore

Isn’t anyone sentimental anymore?

Just before the wedding it was all about her dress

Why afterwards was there so much stress?

The pageantry was more important you had to confess

Oh how easily life becomes such a mess!

Youth then maturity supposedly comes with age

Too many psychos out there who should be locked up in a cage

Who knows you may die of an incident due to road rage

For now, your life is being played out on a stage,

It seems mankind has drifted way too far offshore

Too many material things and false gods to adore

All those delusions and distractions that are galore

Isn’t anyone sentimental anymore?
