Israel’s Prime Minister said the world must make clear that Iran would face ‘credible military action’ if sanctions do not shut down Tehran’s disputed nuclear program.

Benjamin Netanyahu’s warning comes as Malaysian police found equipment they suspect could be used to make nuclear weapons smuggled on board a ship headed to Iran.

Mr Netanyahu said this week it was clear Iran was pursuing its nuclear ambitions despite international sanctions and had enough material for almost three nuclear bombs.

National police chief Ismail Omar said two containers were seized from a Malaysian-registered ship travelling from China to Tehran while it was docked at a central Malaysia harbour earlier this month.

Authorities are investigating whether the equipment could be used to make nuclear weapons.

‘They have enriched enough material now almost for three nuclear bombs,’ Mr Netanyahu told CNN. ‘They still have to re-enrich it again but that is what they are doing.

‘The only thing that will work is if Iran knew that if sanctions fail there will be a credible military option.’

Asked what would constitute a credible military action, Mr Netanyahu said: ‘It means action that will knock out their nuclear facility.’

The UN Security Council has imposed sanctions on Tehran for refusing to freeze its uranium enrichment program, which Western powers suspect is aimed at producing a nuclear weapon.

Iran denies Israeli and Western allegations that it is enriching uranium to produce atomic arms and maintains that its program is for peaceful energy needs.

Mr Netanyahu said if military action was taken, he would prefer that it be lead by the United States.

He said a nuclear-armed Iran would not be just a concern for Israel because it would pose the risk of proliferation.

"Mr Netanyahu said if military action was taken, he would prefer that it be lead by the United States."-Quote the article

I was also trying to point out that with out the US any attack on Iran would fail and thus why Israel hasn't attacked yet. Also why there is such a huge push from zionists and their propagandists.

Quote - (WIRED) "Attacking the Iranian nuclear program would be a massive undertaking, though but not necessarily impossible. However, it would certainly appear that the United States is the only nation with the capability to carry out such an attack. As far as we know, Israel lacks both the sensor technology and the munitions for the job."

wow got misunderstood big time, I in no way at all want to bomb Iran guys i'm not sure how you even came to that conclusion...?

I was merely doing an analysis of the methods they would employ in a theoretical strike against their underground enrichment plants. I should have been more clear. To summarize ether tactical nukes or heavy MOB style uranium containing bombs will be employed to take out their "nuclear threat" ...was pointing out the irony in it all. Guess i failed

Whats funny and ironic ... or sad, I'm not sure which. Is that to "hit" these enrichment facility's you have to use the 'bunker busting' tactical nuclear weapons to get a 100% kill as they are built deep under mountains in Iran. If you notice the USAF and other US military R&D have been working at a fevored pitch to devolop a weapon system that would hold together long enough to dive to an effective depth, accomplish the mission of total destruction and be non nuclear as to not be the bad guys in the eyes of the world. If I had to guess they're not ready for this Iran strike yet, I doubt they have enough of these made yet.

Pentagon Scientists Target Iran’s Nuclear Mole Men

mop2c

Iran’s nuclear facilities may be deeply-buried in a “maze of tunnels” — making them hard to find and even harder to destroy. But the Pentagon is working on some new technological tricks for exactly this kind of mission.

Iran’s president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, apparently takes a personal and close interest in tunnels — he’s a founder member of the Iranian Tunneling Association. Many of those facilities were built as underground shelters in the aftermath of the 1987 “War of the Cities,” when Iraq and Iran exchanged bombardments of Scud missiles.

There are hundreds of miles of such tunnels, created by giant boring machines. The underground locations provide defense and concealment — there is no telling what is a nuclear facility and what is an empty storage space. And, even if the entrance is visible, the extent and layout are unknown, making targeting difficult. Even if the site is attacked, the thickness of mountain rock makes them invulnerable to ordinary bombing.

That’s why the U.S. Air Force is rushing the Massive Ordnance Penetrator (pictured) into production. The MOP can punch through 60 feet of concrete, but this is the very bluntest of instruments for the job. There is more subtle technology to seek out and destroy such facilities. (WIRED)
