First off, TSA is illegal. Period. End of discussion. (So is DHS but that's for another day...)
Second, it is supposed to be the lawful responsibility [AND LIABILITY] of each and every city that has an airport to have an "airport authority" to provide, among many things, some measure of security. (People have tried for years to put airport security off on the airlines but the airlines only lease space from each airport authority. Ergo, it's those community airport authorities who have ALL of the responsibility - and liability - for security.)
Third, those airport authorities have abdicated their responsibilities to TSA, which is illegal.

So the next time you feel like contacting someone to complain about T&A - I mean, TSA - contact the airport authority nearest you and start getting them all frantic about how to keep passengers from getting pissed off and compromising those all-important 'terminal facility' revenues [of all types] coming in.
Don't waste your time going after TSA. GO AFTER THE AIRPORT AUTHORITY'S THEMSELVES!!!!
A side note: The airlines ARE NOT RESPONSIBILE for anything other than physical transport. From the moment a plane pushes back from a gate, they are under the control of the FAA, and remain so until the plane lands and is secured at the arrival gate - which now makes the responsibility fall on that next "airport authority."
