On Tuesday 5th February 2013, at 12 noon, Justice Campaigners from West Yorkshire and beyond will assemble outside the Police Commissioners office in George Street, a short walk from Wakefield Westgate railway station. 

They suggest a placard-carrying demonstration of discontent with the approach by the IPCC and the WYOPCC to police corruption, the police and local authority have been notified. 

Following protesting at the palatial Ploughland House, peacefully, for around an hour the procession will walk the short distance to the IPCC Wakefield office where the organisers are hoping campaigner Michael Doherty, will invite Senior Caseworker, Rebecca Reed to sit in the now famous ‘IPCC Coffin’

The protest will then move around the corner to the Old Courtroom at Wakefield Town Hall where the Police Scrutiny Panel is due to meet at 2pm.  After making their feelings known to the Panel Members, many of whom served on the old Police Authority, the protest will end outside the Legal Services Department in Bond Terrace, Wakefield which is another short walk away.

The purposes of the placard waving assembly is to raise awareness of the dilatory and unlawful manner in which the Police Commissioner, the IPCC and the West Yorkshire Police Force Solicitor, Mike Percival, approach public complainants and those seeking information. documents or evidential material from them.

It is estimated that up to 500 people will attend the protest.  The police and local authority have been informed of the time, date and purpose of the march.
