Me and two ladies tried loading B.A.T.M.A.N. in a router. We have now ordered a syslink router with loooaaads of memory. Article on that, and some attempt with other routers, will follow.

Exactly! Tho we must be careful, we can each make our own decisions. I do not use wifi myself. I run a cable. But, my neighbours are running wifi and so I am still "sitting in it" from all sides. In Bretagne, our nearly-sustainable other home, there are no neighbours close. And I can make this Mesh run without wifi. Wifi is not a prerequisite.

And I can easily imagine thinking "frack the wifi waves" (for a while) if I were living in Lybia, or ...

User-controlled, private, secure anonymous communication between people everywhere is a prerequisite for freedom of speech. The field has to be leveled first. And this puts power back in the hands of each individual. "How to set it up" spreads quickly in Anonymous and Anonymiss. A bit of RTFM (or help from a script kiddie or local hacker) may still be required tho ... ;)
