The Russians have proven what many have suspected for a long time that their army is more of a paper tiger and inept when up against a dedicated opponent. Still when a larger force begins pounding on the business and residential areas of a smaller foe, the damage will be inevitable as it has been for the Ukrainian people. The worst is not the Russian army but the state of mind of one Vladimir Putin, who many former KGB officers who knew him worry that he will indeed do whatever is necessary to remain in power. Although Putin made the worst possible move for Russian interests by expending an army, the Ruble, the Russian stock market, and the huge casualties estimated as more than ten thousand known killed and wounded, as well as the loss of tanks, trucks, and aircraft still there is a madman behind the tragedy. Only pro-war propaganda at home shields Putin from the anger of public outrage should word of his troops be leaked back home.
Still the bloodshed goes on
Now we have reports that several Ukrainian leaders who met with their Russian counterparts to negotiate a cease fire are suffering from the effects of poisoning. One of Vladimir Putin’s methods of choice, he had killed many a defected KGB agent and opposing political leader using plutonium in food along with a myriad of perfected assassination techniques used in the realm of espionage. Even Putin’s old KGB boss admits that Putin is driven by old cold war ambitions and has been angered and shocked by the deaths of Muamar Gadhafi and Saddam Hussein. In his own words, Putin’s former boss claims that he and Putin quarreled and Vladimir tried to have him killed. With the fall of the USSR, this man operating as a KGB officer within the US defected and became a US citizen. According to him, Putin’s biggest fear is losing power and he will do anything to keep from being in that position, which makes the former KGB boss worry.
More setbacks for Russian troops
On the ground, the city of Mykolayiv, one of the first areas to fall to the Russian horde, Ukrainians have retaken the city! Russian presence is gone but still fighting continues warns the mayor of that town. In a surprising twist this morning a list of 620 KGB operatives in Europe replete with passport numbers, email addresses, bank account numbers, and other personal ID info was leaked in Ukrainian and published in the EU as well as other news markets. The British M-I6 admits that they only had a tenth of the known KGB agents under surveillance or known to be active. This move by Ukrainian intelligence will further hamper the Russian intelligence capability!
Could it be a withdrawal?
An announcement that the “First Phase” of Russian military operations has been concluded as troops seem to be either withdrawing or being mobilized to other areas are apparently underway. Yet, one can only guess as to what true motives await the Ukrainian people in the wake of so much death and destruction. Still, Zelensky’s appeal for NATO military support and a “No Fly Zone” have gone unanswered though some money and firearms have been supposedly sent to arm the people as well as the military. Talk of Vladimir Putin authorizing the use of chemical weapons has caused NATO leadership to warn against it as this would set a unified European alliance war effort in motion. The article would become legally enacted.
Ominous moves at sea
Now, a US Navy missile destroyer has entered the Black Sea, something the Russians warned the British not to do. That ship carries at least 95 cruise missiles and is likely to put the Russian military on higher alert, however there was a story of a previous US missile destroyer and what happened when it entered the Black Sea a few years back. It appears that the Russians used some kind of weapon that knocked out the onboard radar and caused severe morale disturbance among the crew. One might recall that during Obama’s spineless administration that Russian fighter bombers made repeated passes on US warships on routine patrol. Commanders aboard those ships were ordered to stand down allowing threatening Russian maneuvers to go unchallenged. One former US Naval Captain remarked that during the cold war any such action would have been a blunder that would have gotten the Soviet aircraft shot out of the sky, but historically anytime US weakness has been demonstrated, the Russian Bear has always been ready to capitalize! A statement was made by the Russians after this incident saying that, “The more sophisticated a radar system, the easier it is to knock out.”
