In the midst of the Libyan peace ravaging rebels again. A senior manager in the transitional council goes by.
For almost a year since insurgents began fighting amongst the former regime in Libya, led by the now dead Muammar Gaddafi.
Just as the rebels have triumphed over the regime symbolized by Gaddafi's death, new disturbances flaring up now.
So far, rioters stormed a government building in Benghazi, where the country's interim leaders are staying.
Since the downfall of the regime in power formally been with the CNT or NTC.
On the way into a black hole
But the head of council, Mustafa Abdel Jalil, warned against the fact that Libya is heading into the abyss, and that the fragile peace process is likely to go into the sink. It writes nyhedsbureaet AP.
The warning is due to serious rebellion forces now oppose council, which would otherwise be a step towards democracy, peace and a new government.
Rebels have directly requested that council give up power and allow for rebel groups instead.
The CNT is not selected, but decreased in collaboration with the West and is recognized by the UN as the Libyan government. The rebels however, believes that many of the councilors have ties to the old Gaddafi regime.
Vice Chairman resigns
The massive and unexpected protests have already received the National Transitional Council Vice-President Abdel Hafiz Ghoga, to abandon his post.
"My retirement has been the nation's advantage, and it is needed now," he told Al Jazeera.
He deplores the country's development.
"Unfortunately, important national interests are no longer supported. The atmosphere of hatred and powerlessness has prevailed. I will not let this feeling go ahead and have a negative impact on the National Transitional Council's work," it said.
A country in solution
It is only approx. Two months ago, NATO pulled out of Libya. The CNT was formed just a few weeks into the rebellion and is composed of lawyers, government officials, Muslim clerics, tribal leaders and civil society activists.
Council has previously warned that one stands on the brink of civil war in Libya, whose population is made up of several different ethnic groups.
The warning came after four died after two rival groups clashed in the capital Tripoli. Thus, there is still considerable uncertainty about the direction in which Libya is moving.
