Long before "Queen" the Band "Argent" owned the Vocal Landscape Along With Brilliant Keyboards

You've heard people go on and on about Freddie Mercury and Queen's Vocals, but long before the Mud Bottom Boy's band debuted in the early 80's on MTV there was another kid in town who owned the vocal landscape of progressive rock appearing on many a Midnight Special and In Concert late night TV shows. Oh, and there were hetero as well.

Before Rod Argent and his band by the same name there was the Zombies and Argent's great harmonies with Zombies front man Colin Blunstone, but Colin would remain with the Zombies as Argent established his own band. We can thank George Harrison of the Beatles who sat in on an opinion panel and gave high praises to the Zombies for the hit song "No One Told Me About Her". This would help launch Argent in years to come. Not only was Rod an excellent vocalist and song writer he was probably one of the few keyboard men who could match Keith Emerson of Emerson Lake and Palmer in piano, organ, and synthesizer playing capability. Argent still plays today.
