Losing My House
I’m about to lose my house
A place where I once coveted my spouse
Where I ate, made love, and even trapped a mouse
Now I feel as if I’ve been dowsed,
Memories that will not be forgotten for sure
A sadness that I can barely endure
There was supposed to be a future
All of those ulterior motives that weren’t so pure,
She danced in and then danced right out
Oh you should have seen her scream and shout
However, that’s not what love’s about
It takes care and being sturdy and stout,
It seems the heartbreakers never get caught
Somewhere here a lesson should be taught
Take heed when a temper is inappropriately hot
Might as well have left blood on that spot,
A house that was once a home
Where affectionate spirits once roamed
Where future seeds were surely sown
Where heartache penetrated to the bone,
Part of my soul will be left in that house
A place where I used to touch her blouse
A place where I once had no doubts
Yet, in her mind I became a louse,
I’m about to lose my house
A place where I once coveted my spouse
Where I ate, made love, and even trapped a mouse
Now I feel as if I’ve been dowsed.
