Lost Your Innocence
The world will turn without you and life will go on
Been that way since the beginning of dawn
The rain is dancing upon my lawn
The propaganda news just makes me yawn,
They say love is free but you’ll pay a high price
Heartbreak is real don’t think twice
From your life love just took another slice
Thinking back now her eyes were as cold as ice,
So it appears another page will turn
The realization we've all been burned
All those bitter lessons you had to learn
From being in love to being easily spurned,
Trying to hold on to this slippery existence
You must hang on with such persistence
Sometimes it seems that there’s so much resistance
Now you’re viewing your life from a distance,
Love has become an inescapable drought
After she tears your heart out
Seems there’s nothing else to care about
Won’t do any good to scream and shout,
Still the world turns and life goes on
And you might feel like a chessboard pawn
It seems that all hope is gone
Here you sit waiting for next Black Swan,
Some will say be thankful for the experience
While others will say should have done your due diligence
You’ll have to forget about her perfume fragrance
And admit that you lost your innocence.
