LANSING — Don't staple your tax documents, Michigan Treasury is asking residents this tax season.
Staples tend to rip or cause holes on the tax records, requiring extra time for staffers to "recondition the documents before scanning and processing them," Treasury officials said in a news release Wednesday. That can make refunds come slower for those who contribute to the 1.3 million pieces of mail sent into the state tax season, Treasury said.
