My Last Rendezvous?
At first I thought what we had was magic and true
Thought that I could actually believe in you
Then something in my universe seemed to go askew
Where were those feelings of faithfulness I once knew?
They say one can leave a mark on your soul forever
Be careful who you choose to trust whenever
Love is the most painful bond to sever
Yet there are adulterers who think they’re so clever,
Feel like I’m falling from a thirty thousand foot view
Unlike an aircraft, I can’t set a different course anew
I’m pulling on the stick and rudders in this sky of blue
The ground is coming up fast, my last rendezvous?
All the things we ever did together
This is no story about the weather
I’m searching for that angel feather
Thought we had this sacred tether,
Sometimes I feel like an astronaut lost in space
Can’t really seem to find my place
Guess I really fell hard from grace
Lord to be the pilot who touched your face,
So, I struggle to get control of my soul vehicle
In my head long search for something meaningful
Didn’t want to be sounding too strategical
The need for love is not just seasonal,
What was my mission when I landed on this earth base?
Was it to explore a utopia of linen and lace?
Would my soul vanish without a trace?
Is this just a world of a dream flesh love chase?
All the things we ever did together
This is no story about the weather
I’m searching for that angel feather
Thought we had this sacred tether,
Don’t mind this fool groping through the halls
He’s harmless but for the pain he recalls
Like a ship at sea navigating through squalls
All too familiar with pride before the falls.
